A local boxer is preparing for the fight of her life, one that she wasn't always sure would come.

The main event on a boxing card at Madison Square Garden - no woman has ever done it before. At least until next month, when Brooklyn's Amanda Serrano steps into the ring against Ireland's Katie Taylor.

Serrano not only represents Brooklyn in the ring, but Puerto Ricans like fellow Brooklyn native and Academy Award nominee Rosie Perez, who has been in Serrano's corner since early in her career.
