An 8-month-old boy is dead after his family dog mauled him in his Prospect Lefferts Gardens home Thursday.
Police say the Doberman pinscher bit Andrew Stein on the head before 2 p.m. in the hallway of the home on Ocean Parkway. The boy was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Neighbors recall seeing the family pushing the baby in the stroller with the dog in tow. They say the pet was good-natured, but often barked.
Police are investigating the incident and add that it's too early to determine what will happen to the animal.
The dog was taken to Animal Care and Control.
