The Brooklyn Brewery joined the
New York Blood Center Wednesday for its second annual Pint for a Pint campaign.
Donors can receive a voucher for a free or discounted beverage at a participating location. Blood donors can give every 56 days while platelet donors can give twice a month.
The campaign aims to motivate blood donors to participate during the summer months when schools are closed and families leave for vacation. Participating also allows donors to support local businesses.
According to the NYBC, 1 in 7 hospital admissions require a blood transfusion. That includes cancer patients, newborn babies and their mothers, those suffering from chronic diseases such as sickle cell disease and more.
The Pint for a Pint campaign will last until Sept. 10.
