Police are searching for three gunmen they say shot and killed a livery cab driver in Coney Island Wednesday morning.
Investigators say Khadim Hussain Bhati, 61, was shot in the stomach while driving his livery cab on Neptune Avenue and West 33rd Street. They say he may have been the victim of a robbery. He was taken to Coney Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His family says he owned his own livery cab and charged $2 fares for trips in the area. They are preparing to send his body back to Pakistan for burial.
Police are searching for three gunmen they say fled the scene of the crime.
