Brooklyn college instructor, restaurant celebrate 'The Irishman' ties
Did you know that Martin Scorsese's latest film "The Irishman" was filmed in Brooklyn?
Actors Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci stood in the kitchen of Colandrea New Corner restaurant back in 2017 and filmed scenes that are in the new Netflix film "The Irishman."
Park Slope resident and Brooklyn college instructor Welker White is also in the film, which was directed by Martin Scorsese. She plays Jimmy Hoffa's wife, Josephine.
Both the Colandrea New Corner restaurant owners and White say they were extremely excited to be involved in a film right here in Brooklyn. The restaurant, which has been around since 1936, now has a wall dedicated to the movie.
The owners tell News 12 that people from all over have been stopping in to see exactly where scenes were filmed. As for White, she tells News 12 that it was an honor to be part of a film that has such a wonderful cast, interesting storyline and brilliant director.
"The Irishman" was released just last month and can be found on Netflix.
