With downpouring rain to be followed by a drop in the temperature in New York City, commuters need to take extra precaution Friday morning.
The air is sticky and wet and it's getting colder in Brooklyn. There are some spots on the sidewalks that are covered in a thin layer of ice. So, while drivers should keep in mind of the roads, those traveling by foot should also be cautious.
The Office of Emergency Management has issued a travel advisory beginning this morning and continuing into the night.
While it may be unusually warm, temperatures will drop heading into the day causing puddles and slick walkways to turn to ice. There are ways to stay safe during these chilly and wet conditions. Make sure to bundle up, don't forget an umbrella and watch your step.
