Jerimiah Johnson, 30, of East New York, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter on April 17.
According to the investigation, the incident happened on Sept. 12, 2021, at the child’s home in the Gowanus Houses. Rickia Delvalle, the child’s mother, says she was woken up by Jonson, who told her that the child could not breathe and had collapsed to the floor.
Delvalle saw that the child was not breathing and was unresponsive.
An autopsy performed by the medical examiner revealed numerous injuries that were both new and old, including multiple bruises and abrasions to his limbs, back, abdomen, and chest, as well as a healing skull fracture and multiple rib fractures.
