A Bedford-Stuyvesant day care center is giving back to the community one sandwich at a time.
Students and staff at the Katmint Learning Initiative on Quincy Street spent Saturday bagging peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, along with fruit and water, for the homeless.
Katmint Learning Initiative runs as a preschool during the week, but wanted to do a little extra to help its community.
"It's a simple meal, but it's something that the children made with love," said Andre Farrell.
The group also hands out jeans and jackets to the homeless.
