Some Catholics around the country and even some in New York have been given permission to eat meat on St. Patrick's Day.
This year, St. Patrick's Day falls on a Friday during Lent, something that could be quite challenging for those who love corned beef.
However, the diocese of Rochester and 100 other U.S. dioceses, including the Archdiocese of New York and the Diocese of Brooklyn, are granting a pass to Catholics, allowing them to enjoy corned beef and other meats on Friday, March 17.
