A 12-year-old Brooklyn girl and her mother are speaking out after police say the child was attacked by a group of girls.

The incident happened on June 14 on West 27th Street near Surf Ave in Coney Island.

Kamyra Ingram’s family said a cellphone video was sent to them that showed the group pulling her hair, then punching and kicking her in the head and back.

Ingram said she was at a nearby playground when the group approached her and asked if she wanted to fight one of them.

“They’re just pressuring me to fight her, and I’m like, ‘No,’” said Ingram. “I’m trying to walk away from the situation.”

Ingram told News 12 that the group followed her out of the park and into the street.

“I was just hoping that I could just walk away and get home,” said Ingram.

The victim said she only knew one of the girls, who goes to the same school.

Police told News 12 that they’re searching for four girls who they believe are between the ages of 10 and 12.

“One of the girls didn’t like me because of how I look,” said Ingram.

“[My daughter] said she don’t like her because of how she looks and because of her skin,” said Lateefa Coleman, the victim’s mother. “And I said, ‘You are beautiful.’”

Coleman said she can’t sleep after the attack. The incident appeared to stem from an old text message exchange.

“They have to understand that what they did was not right,” said Coleman. “If it was someone else, they could’ve got hurt.”

The family said the victim was taken to a local hospital and suffered from headaches.

“I’m just happy that she didn’t get hurt severely, like stabbed up and stuff like that, because these kids are horrible these days,” said Coleman.
