Fathers across the borough bonded with their children today through the national "Dads Take Your Child to School Day."
The goal of the event is to encourage fathers to become more involved in their child's education and upbringing.
As a part of this year's event at P.S. 276 in Canarsie, parents and students held a march through the auditorium and decorated T-shirts.
One father who participated in the event said walking to school with his child has always been an important daily ritual.
P.S. 276's principal told News 12 that it makes a difference in children's lives when parents walk to school with them.
Although the event has been held at P.S. 276 for many years, teachers say this year had the biggest turnout.
