A Brooklyn teenage fencer has made his Olympic debut.
At just 19 years old, Race Imboden is the highest-ranked man on the U.S. fencing team and was ranked fifth in the world entering the 2012 games.
Imboden beat his Brazilian opponent in the round of 32, but missed his chance at an individual medal after being defeated by Italy's Andrea Baldini.
The teen's next shot at a medal will be on Sunday as he leads the U.S. in the team foil competition.
