Brooklyn hardware store sells over 1,000 shovels as snow showers hit region

New Yorkers are still recovering from the remnants of last week’s nor’easter and Sunday’s snow showers. Now, residents are stocking up on supplies as more snow could be on the way.
The owner of Brooklyn’s Best Hardware, Alan Butrico,  tells News 12 supplies are going fast.
Butrico says he has sold over 1,000 shovels in a week, which has turned out to be the busiest winter he has seen in years.
“We just got another trailer today. It’s almost gone. We have another trailer coming in tomorrow and Wednesday as well, and hopefully on Thursday depending on the weather, we probably went through around four trailers of salt so far,” said Butrico.
Butrico tells News 12 that there seems to be a shortage of shovels in large hardware stores right now because of supply chain issues related to the coronavirus pandemic.  So, he says a lot of the shovels this store has in stock now are American-made.
