Brooklyn hospital aims to improve care for hearing impaired
One Brooklyn hospital is trying to improve the care given to those who are deaf or have impaired hearing.
An event at the Brookdale Medical Center Monday offered support for those with hearing issues: information about resources available at the hospital and throughout New York City.
Doctors say that while working with a deaf patient can require some extra patience, the hospital is committed to streamlining treatment for all individuals.
News 12 is told that a small number of patients at Brookdale Medical Center are deaf or hearing impaired, but that the hospital wants that number to grow. To meet the desired growth, the hospital plans to expand its services.
