Brooklyn residents turned out for one of the oldest Memorial Day parades in the country Monday.
The Kings County Memorial Day Parade marched down Third Avenue in Bay Ridge.
Marching bands, motorcycles and classic cars joined veterans from every branch of the military in the 148th annual parade.
Brooklyn veterans have been gathering for the parade since 1867, according to organizers. The procession has started in Bay Ridge for the last 20 years.
Organizers say the parade serves as a tribute to those who died in battle as well as a reminder of their sacrifice.
