Independent filmmakers got to show their stuff at the 9th annual Brooklyn International Film Festival (BiFF) at the Brooklyn Museum in Crown Heights Saturday.
The mission of the festival is to discover, expose and promote independent filmmakers while drawing worldwide attention to Brooklyn as a center for cinema. Festival organizers say they love the borough because of its space, openness and low-key attitude. BiFF has expanded to include films for kids, which are chosen by a panel of kids.
Organizers hope to expand even more next year to include a category of just Brooklyn films in the main festival. The festival runs through June 11.
