Brooklyn man accused of setting fire at Uniondale laundromat

A 53-year-old woman inside the building extinguished the blaze and called police.

A Brooklyn man accused of arson in Uniondale was arrested on Saturday, according to police.

Authorities say 31-year-old Curtis Desir set a poster on fire at Prendi Laundromat on Front Street and then blocked the entrance around 3 p.m.

A 53-year-old woman extinguished the blaze and called police. Desir was located and apprehended by officers a short time later.

No injuries were reported. Desir is scheduled to face a judge Sunday in Hempstead.
