Founder of the Gentleman’s Factory in Brooklyn, Jeff Lindor, is determined to create a safe space for Black men to come together to collaborate and create ideas.
“The purpose is to fill the void of the isolation factor amongst Black men,” says Lindor. “Where do we go to talk about businesses, or challenges, or ideas?”
According to Lindor, Black men continue to face high discrimination and depression. He hopes to change that.
“There’s just power when we come together,” says Lindor. “Innovation is sparked, ideas are birthed, businesses are birthed.”
Lindor founded the Gentleman’s Factory in 2014, and it has made great strides with a second location, an innovation lab in Downtown Brooklyn.
“It’s designed as this incubator space for ideas, investments and new ideas to be sparked,” says Lindor.
The space has helped to change the community by empowering men. Lindor says when you empower a man, you are in fact empowering his family and his community.
Lindor says there is no greater feeling than to see men come together at all stages in their careers and make power moves.
