A Brooklyn man has died after being fatally struck by a train when his backpack got caught on the train doors, according to the NYPD.
Police sources say it happened on Monday at the Utica Avenue train station. Witnesses told police that a man in his 50s was leaving the train when he got caught on the door, fell in between the train cars and onto the tracks. Then, the train began to move and struck him.
The man has now been identified as 57-year-old Yaw Boahene.
EMS pronounced Boahene dead at the scene.
News 12 reached out to the MTA for comment and was deferred to the NYPD.
