Launch Charter middle-schoolers hosted a restaurant pop-up on Wednesday to showcase the culinary skills they have learned this summer.
The Summer Adventure Academy helps students learn about every area of the kitchen from serving, to hosting and even handling the oven.
"It's an amazing opportunity to build community with our students, staff and board members and our leadership teams and it was just a space to see our students leading spaces that oftentimes we wait for until they're adults in the job force," said director Tiyana Logan.
Logan says this is a 'once in a lifetime' experience and many of the children have found their passions through the program.
"I would love to own my own restaurant and call it 'Eli's Table'," said 13-year-old Elias Innocent. He says he's now inspired to be a chef when he grows up.
