Advocates and elected officials spoke out Monday about the 20-year delay of the Atlantic Yards Project.

It was approved with the promise of providing open space, affordable housing and bridging the divided neighborhoods of Fort Greene and Prospect Heights.

Advocates say there's a lack of accountability on the part of the developer Greenland USA, which failed to meet its financial obligations. They say the way forward is through transparency and a new plan that considers sustainability, safety and impact on local businesses.
