Students at one Prospect-Lefferts Gardens school were surprised to learn that their mild-mannered principal actually has a black belt in karate.
By day, Danielle Gonzalez runs St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Academy, but after school she turns from principal to sensei.
Gonzalez started a karate club for students so she can share her karate training background with them.
She says that many of the lessons learned are translated into everyday life, such as learning control over your body when anger may want to take over.
