Brooklyn Prospect High School is celebrating a 100% college acceptance rate for its graduating class - for the second consecutive year.
Students one by one walked across the stage on Friday, revealing to their peers and teachers what colleges they would be attending in just a few months. Members of the graduating class will be taking their next steps at colleges in 34 different states and three different countries, totaling 982 college acceptances at 228 different colleges for the prestigious class.
The school says that 81% of the students were accepted by their early decision choices, and that their perseverance through the COVID-19 pandemic helped to prepare them for whatever may come next.
“I’m so excited for all of our students. They have worked so hard for four years. Some have been with the network for years since sixth grade,” said AJ Ryan, deputy principal of Brooklyn Prospect High School. “To see that success from sixth to 12th grade and the colleges they’re getting accepted to, multiple scholarships… it’s truly exciting.”
