The Brooklyn Public Library held a startup competition with a big cash prize for first-time business entrepreneurs.
Past winners who have turned their ideas into successful businesses include Fort Greene's Greenlight Bookstore and Bogata Latin Bistro. 

The cash prize is sponsored by Citi Group. 
A library spokesperson says they are part of the community and want to help community businesses start and thrive.
The spokesperson says the library offers job support and business-planning classes for those who missed the competition.
