Black Maternal Health Week might be behind us, but at the Brooklyn Public Library, it’s far from over.
In the next few weeks, the Brooklyn Public Library is bringing some helpful resources directly to moms, with a series of events and workshops. They say the goal is to support parents who need it most, and help them take care of their mental health.
Studies show that women of color are twice as likely to experience mental health struggles, but only half as likely to receive treatment for it, compared to their white counterparts.
The next event is the annual Mom-A-Thon, at the Macon library on May 9.
