Summer fun is officially getting underway this weekend at Brooklyn public pools.
City officials wasted no time after the end of the school year Friday and announced that all 15 public outdoor pools in the borough will open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Swimmers must be properly dressed in a swimsuit, and officials recommend leaving equipment like floaties at home. If you're unsure of your swimming skills, there are classes for beginners.
There will be a cleaning hour between 3 and 4 p.m., and swimmers are asked to contribute by leaving food at home.
The NYC Parks and Recreation Department is suggesting leaving valuables at home, but small storage units will be provided for people who bring a combination lock.
