A Brooklyn rapper is suing the makers of the video game Fortnite, saying they illegally used his dance moves in the game.
Rapper 2 Milly says he came up with the dance Milly Rock several years ago. It became popular in a song and video he put out.
In the lawsuit, the rapper, whose real name is Terrence Ferguson, asked for a judge to order the game to stop using his moves. He is also asking for damages.
"I feel like I got robbed and I don't get robbed," says Ferguson.
Legal experts say when it comes to suing over dance moves, it can be complicated.
Brooklyn law professor Jonathan Askin says these are essentially very novel issues. He says there's a lot to consider, such as how much of the dance was taken and whether it was used for commercial purposes.
Ferguson says he just wants fair compensation for a dance he says defines him.
A spokesperson for Epic Games declined to comment.
