Two Brooklyn residents are among five New Yorkers who have contracted the West Nile virus, the city's Health Department confirms.
Officials say the patients have all been treated and released from the hospital.
The city is now taking extra measures to fight the virus, such as spraying parts of the borough that have a high mosquito population.
Those areas include parts of Bath Beach, Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights and Fort Hamilton.
