The man wanted for a deadly stabbing outside a Cypress Hills grocery store back in June was finally caught outside of the U.S.
According to police sources, Christian Morales was detained in Mexico on an unrelated drug charge. Authorities ran his name through their system and discovered that police in New York had been looking for him.
Investigators say the 21-year-old was brought back to the country Monday, and is now facing charges for murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the death of 22-year-old Carlos Santos.
Santos was stabbed in the head, arm and chest while walking along Crescent Street, near the Compare Supermarket, during a scuffle that was caught on surveillance video. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Santos' loved ones say they're relieved that Morales is going to pay for what he did.
