The Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition held its first ever Pride event in Red Hook Saturday.
The event featured an exhibit that was meant to give a creative space to artists that are members or supporters of the LGBTQ+ community.
The artists whose work was featured said the space and support given to express their work is important to the LGBTQ+ community.
The exhibit featured sculptures, paintings and photographs.
The art exhibit that featured work by, for, and about the LGBTQ+ community, was also a fundraising event.
Event organizers said that a portion of the proceeds earned will go to the artists and another will go to the Ali Fourney Center, which protects LGBTQ+ youth from homelessness.
