A $24 million city-wide project that's slated to bring two new skate parks to Brooklyn, including Mount Prospect Park, is getting some pushback.
The deal is a partnership between the city and legendary pro skater Tony Hawk. The city says the new parks will help boost tourism and give young New Yorkers a place to have fun.
According to Mount Prospect Park, the city is considering a proposal that will pour concrete over 40,000 square feet of the park, which is something they say goes against the preservation on their green spaces.
News 12 reached out the group and organizers of the skate park project and have yet to hear back.
