Brooklyn?s Turkish community capped off a weekend of cultural events with a peace march Sunday across the Brooklyn Bridge. The marchers say they gathered in a show of solidarity to stand up for peace in Brooklyn and around the world. They say they want to show they are a peaceful community, dedicated to peace and understanding not only in Brooklyn but also around the world. They took their message across the Brooklyn Bridge all the way to City Hall. Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz gave the group a proclamation declaring Sunday Turkish peace day in the borough.
