Brownsville man sentenced to 17 years for 2020 killing

The district attorney’s office says the defendant, Gregory Spears, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in January.

A Brownsville man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for the death of a man back in 2020.
The Brooklyn district attorney’s office says that 43-year-old Gregory Spears fatally shot his neighbor, 62-year-old Angel Medina.
Court documents state that Spears shot Medina several times at Medina’s apartment. Citizen app video shows the scene on Sutter Avenue from nearly four years ago.
The district attorney’s office says Spears pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in January.
