Brownsville residents take to streets amid concerning rise of drug use in their area
Residents in Brownsville have had enough of the rise of drug use taking place in their neighborhood.
And they are using their voices to try to get things to change.
Many tell News 12 between drugs and homelessness in the community has reached its tipping point.
“We’re here tonight because of the block,” one elderly woman said. “We need a lot of prayers and needed to get together.”
Those gathered say they are calling on the city’s leaders to commit to transform the surrounding communities in the hope that it will bring a brighter future for all.
