A fast-moving fire ripped through a three-story home in Bushwick Tuesday, leaving 11 firefighters injured and six families homeless.
Officials say one of the firefighters who battled the flames at 376 Palmetto St. received second-degree burns to his neck and ears.
According to fire officials, there were five people inside the house at the time of the fire. Three residents managed to escape the burning structure on their own, while two people, including a pregnant woman, had to be rescued by firefighters.
The Red Cross is providing the six homeless families with temporary shelter, food and clothing.
