(01/04/08) THE BRONX ? Business owners at 3009 Westchester Ave. are surveying the damage their building suffered in a Thursday fire.

Three businesses and a vacant office were affected. Nearby residents say an income tax office in the structure suffered smoke damage. The owner of an Allstate Insurance location says his office suffered water damage. He?s looking for temporary office space in the Bronx so he doesn?t lose too many customers.

The office for MP Power Realty is also in the structure.

A 99 cent store located next to 3009 Westchester Ave. is open, but was affected to some extent by the fire. Employees say water poured in from the ceiling during the fire. They?ve had to throw out some merchandise.
