A pair of Olympic fencers from The Bronx came up short at the London Olympics despite a series of upset victories. Tim Morehouse, of Riverdale, defeated a 6th and 11th seed before falling in the quarterfinal round. Morehouse advanced two rounds further in 2012 than he did four years ago in Beijing. Daryl Homer, of Williamsbridge, beat the second-ranked fencer in the world before losing in the quarterfinals as well. The London games marked Morehouse's third Olympics and Homer's first.
