A Muslim and Jewish congregation in Parkchester are sharing the same facility, setting an example in religious tolerance. The building, owned by the Islamic Cultural Center of North America, houses a mosque and Orthodox synagogue at 2006 Westchester Ave. Only the mosque existed until the Chabad of East Bronx moved there in 2009. The Islamic center is open seven days a week. Synagogue services are offered on Fridays and Saturdays.
