A Bronx hotel maid has added a gender-violence claim to her lawsuit against the former head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to Nafissatou Diallo, Dominique Strauss-Kahn attempted to rape her at a Manhattan luxury hotel last year, but criminal charges were dropped after prosecutors doubted Diallo's credibility.
Diallo says the incident reflects a pattern of misogynistic conduct against women. A city law allows her to sue as a victim of violence motivated by gender.
