For Muslims, Ramadan is the month of fasting, but some Muslims in The Bronx are also using it as a time to recognize the importance of women in Islam.
On Sunday night, members of The Bronx Muslim community gathered on East 1-70th Street to discuss the role of women as mothers, wives and members of Islam.
Ramadan ends August 18.
