Drivers and pedestrians are honking mad after they say a new sidewalk along Pelham Parkway is putting people at risk. Neighbors marched down the parkway earlier today to protest the construction, which added a 5-foot walkway for wheelchair-bound residents. They say they've been voicing their concerns for months by signing petitions. "This sidewalk is very dangerous and it's now made the roadway dangerous," homeowner David Stevens says. The project has led to fewer parking spaces and increased traffic, especially to the detriment of MTA buses and emergency vehicles. Residents say they want local leaders to help them persuade the Department of Transportation.
