Bronx residents are firing criticism toward the NYPD over a new scanning device that will eliminate the need for police officers to physically frisk people on the street. The scanner will read the natural energy emanating from a person's body, and will light up when the flow of energy is disrupted by a weapon. Officials say the new technology will keep civilians safe, but some residents say it is not going to change who police target in the first place. The New York Civil Liberties Union released a statement saying the proposal is both intriguing and worrisome.
