Seventeen lucky Cardinal Hayes High School students are getting their bags packed for a trip to the Vatican to see Archbishop Timothy Dolan elevated to cardinal later this month.
The students say they are not only excited to see the elevation ceremony, but also to experience Italian culture.
School officials say the trip was planned far in advance of the news of the Dolan's elevation announcement, but that they are happy about the serendipity.
The students will also get to meet with Dolan after he becomes a cardinal.
News 12 The Bronx will carry the elevation ceremony live on Feb. 18.
