A string of violence in Brooklyn over the first weekend of fall has community leaders calling for tougher gun laws.
Sources say there were at least six shootings over the weekend in the borough including one on Taylor Street in Williamsburgh. Neighbors say a man was shot in the shoulder and leg. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Community advocate Tony Herbert said, "We moved to action to move the marriage equality act into play; we moved action to now having this new groping law on the trains; now we need to make sure that we move these guns off our street."Police are still searching for the suspects in the Taylor Street shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
