A Seagate woman says her car was broken into and stolen.
Grisel Soto says her SUV was taken near the corner of 36th Street and Mermaid on Monday at around 12:30 p.m.
She admits she made the mistake of leaving the key in the ignition. Within seconds of checking on her husband at a nearby doctor's office, Soto says she heard the car alarm go off and watched a group of young people take off.
The car was found barely three blocks away behind a building.
Soto says her purse was stolen and the thieves tried to use her credit cards in Key Food. She has canceled the cards and plans to change the locks on her SUV.
She says she will make sure she has her keys with her before walking away from her car in the future.
