Cardinal Hayes triple overtime win places team as No. 5 in 12's Top Twelve Poll

The game of the weekend in high school football came courtesy of the New York City Catholic League and from Long Island.
Defending city champ Cardinal Hayes had its hands full in Kellenberg. Trailing much of the game, senior Zachary Mitchell got the Cardinals across the goal line. This game went to triple overtime with Hayes winning 55-49. They host Stepinac this Saturday in the regular season finale.
Hayes remains in fifth place in our citywide 12's Top Twelve Poll. The top six teams remain the same as last week with Erasmus Hall as the unanimous No. 1 after beating Curtis.
Canarsie is knocking on the door of the top six after knocking off Midwood. Fordham Prep moves back into the rankings after a big win over Christ the King. For the first time ever, Eagle Academy III is in our top 12.
Week 8 kicks off in just two days.
