Many Brooklyn residents are gearing up for the first day of school and the start of fall - but for the Caribbean community, there's nothing they're looking forward to more than the start of Carnival.

The annual West Indian Day Parade takes over Eastern Parkway and the West Indian American Day Carnival Association puts together a launch yearly to hype up the special occasion.

This year's theme is evolution - and everything from Soca music to food, costumes, and parade decorations will focus on that theme while bringing together people from all of the Caribbean islands to celebrate their unique cultures.
