Police say a driver trying to avoid school buses in Borough Park, drove up onto the sidewalk, coming incredibly close to hitting several children.
The incident happened right outside the school on 53rd Street between 18th and 19th avenues.
Former Assemblyman Dov Hikind posted surveillance video on social media calling on the NYPD to track down the driver and arrest them.
"A difference of a moment you could have had a kid, you could have had the most unbelievable tragedy in this community," says Assemblyman Hikind. "There's nothing in the world that can justify what this person did. Nothing in the world."
The video shows the driver of the blue car pulling up onto a sidewalk, nearly hitting several children as they walk into the school after getting off the school bus.
The NYPD tells News 12 they are still searching for the driver of the car, which is a blue four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota.
Police say no one was hurt.
Police tell News 12 they recovered the vehicle in the video near 57th Street and 19th Avenue, but have still not arrested or charged the driver.
