CDC report says 2021 saw rise in suicides
New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that U.S. suicide rates rose in 2021.
There was a dip in suicide rates back in 2019 that continued into 2020, according to the CDC. That improvement stopped in 2021, with an average of about 14 suicide deaths for every 100,000 people.
The CDC also reported that the suicide rate among men in the U.S. was four times higher than it was for women in 2021.
