the Food and Drug Administration has approved the Pfizer COVID-19
booster shot for all kids ages 5-11, the Centers
for Disease Control has yet to formally
recommend the booster for this age group.
If the
booster shot is fully approved for this age group, the dosage for each child
will be less than for those 12 and older who receive the booster.
The
CDC’s website shows that cases for children ages 5-12 have increased by about
90 cases per 100,000 since this time last month.
Advisors
from the CDC are set to meet Thursday to reach that final decision on whether
to recommend the booster for this age group or not.
